MEETING AT MINISTRY OF JUSTICE
Having completed his mission in Azerbaijan, head of ICRC in Baku Floran Corna expressed satisfaction with successful cooperation in Azerbaijan, reforms carrying out in the Republic, as well as measures taken in the field of human rights protection, press-service of the Ministry of Justice reports. F. Corna expressed gratitude for all-sided support of Azerbaijan government, in particular the Ministry of Justice in the work of the Committee and introduced the newly appointed head of ICRC Mrs. Mary Vernts.
Having stated that she was informed on successful realization of the democratic and legal reforms in Azerbaijan, the achievements of which were highly appreciated in Geneva headquarters of the Committee, Mrs. Mary Vernts stated that she would aspire to suitably continue this fruitful cooperation with Azerbaijan.
Having thanked Floran Corna, Minister of Justice Fikrat Mammadov reminded on results of the legal reforms and humane measures serving the more reliable protection of human rights in the country, positive changes in prisons. He stressed the significance of useful cooperation in this sphere with the international organizations, in particular, with the International Committee for Red Cross, wished the new leadership, Mrs. Mary Vernts a successful activity.
