MEETING AT THE FOREIGN MINISTRY
Noting that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to cooperation with OSCE, the Minister said Azerbaijan gives high assessment to the interest of this Organization for settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno Karabakh problem, and expressed a hope that the current visit would promote in tacking the problem, press service of the Ministry reported.
The Minister updated the guests on the history of the conflict, on the works done for settlement of the problem, on the direct meetings of Presidents of the two countries, and reminded the hard plight of over one million of refugees and IDPs ousted from their homelands as a result of this conflict. Minister Guliyev expressed his regret that efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group were not enough for resolution of the conflict, and that Armenian continues to ignore 4 UN Security Council’s Resolutions and resolutions of the Lisbon Summit on the question. The world community should increase its efforts to solve the problem in the frame of the principles – sovereignty of states, territorial integrity and inviolability of borders, the Minister said.
Mr. Goran Lenmarker stated that the Organization is keen in establishment of peace and security in the South Caucasus, in particular, in Azerbaijan, stressed the necessity of intensification of the negotiations to remove sequences of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
The parties had a comprehensive exchange of views on a number of other issues of mutual interest.
