MEETING AT THE MINISTRY OF LABOR AND SOCIAL SECURITY OF POPULATION
The Minister informed in detail the guest on socio-economic situation in Azerbaijan, the poverty reduction activities, and raise of life level. It has been noted, that the law on labor had been developed and adopted in Azerbaijan first in the former soviet space. Having noted, that experience of the developed countries is being applied, the Minister has emphasized, that it is used for elimination of the negative facts not stipulated by the law.
Having ascertained, that in Azerbaijan, as well as all over the world, exist unemployment, and that the head of state pursues the policy on elimination of the given problem, the Minister has emphasized, that the basic attention is directed on creation of new workplaces. In the near future, it eventually will render positive influence on elimination of the problem of employment of youth in Azerbaijan, the Minister underlined.
The guests, having expressed satisfaction with the visit, which has been carried out, on the invitation of minister, have noted, that they are glad to the successes reached by Azerbaijan in social spheres. V. Blank has told: “Azerbaijan, constantly being on the junction of various cultures, always benefited it. ILO is the first organization cooperating with Azerbaijan in given area, and we are proud of it. For today, the country has joined 55 conventions of ILO, 8 of which are devoted to problems of youth. Natural resources, macroeconomic opportunities of the country, the successes reached by Azerbaijan in the field of education, public health services, sports and other spheres, testify about successful policy pursued by the President of Azerbaijan.
Mr. Blank expressed confidence for further cooperation and strengthening of links.
