MEETING OF EDUCATION SECTION HELD AS PART OF AZERBAIJAN-RUSSIA FORUM
Baku, 23 January (AZERTAC). A meeting of the education section has been held today in Baku State University as part of the first Azerbaijan-Russia forum on humanitarian cooperation.
Opening the event, rector of the university, MP Abel Maharramov said national leader Heydar Aliyev paid great attention to development of science and education in Azerbaijan. He added the national leader`s policy had successfully been continued by President Ilham Aliyev.
Maharramov spoke of BSU`s activity, saying more than 18 thousand students study in the university.
On international relations of BSU, the rector said it had fruitful cooperation with the world`s higher education institutions including Lomonosov Moscow State University.
Touching upon the Azerbaijan-Russia forum, Maharramov expressed confidence it would contribute to expanding bilateral educational cooperation even more.
President and Chairman of the Managing Board of Russlavbank Nikolay Gusman, in turn, stressed the importance of the forum.
He underlined “we should expand our relations in various spheres.”
The sides also discussed how to boost scientific and educational cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia.
