OMBUDSPERSON OF AZREBAIJAN MEETS PACE RAPPORTEUR

The representative on human rights of Azerbaijan Republic Elmira Suleymanova has met the rapporteur on Southern Caucasus of the Committee of Equity of women and men of Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Vera Oskina.

During the meeting, the Representative has noted, that the question of gender equality is one of the basic criteria in maintenance of human rights in society. She also has emphasized, that on the initiative of Ombudsman, gender problems in the country were repeatedly discussed.

The Ombudsperson has told about active participation of women in public-political life of the country, in detail has informed on mass infringement of the rights of our compatriots, including women, as a result of aggression of Armenia against Azerbaijan, bitter destiny of captives and hostages.

The guest has thanked for detailed information.

At the meeting also was present the member of delegation of Azerbaijan at PACE, MP Elmira Akhundova, the employee of PACE Secretary Yannik Davy.
