According to the data received by the Central Election Commission, connected with the parliamentary elections in Georgia, the bloc of the “Union of democratic revival” leads the elections. Leaders of the pro-governmental bloc “For new Georgia” consider it a momentary occurrence and hope to surpass after receiving the results of the 590 election points of the Republic, where counting of votes is continuing. The “Nationalist Movement” bloc holds the third place, while the Laborists – the fourth. And the bloc of “Burjanadze-Democrats” is the fifth. The Party of “The New Rights” and “Industry will save Georgia” is to overcome the 7-percent limit to be represented at the Parliament, and this will likely happen.

Despite the continuation of counting of the votes, tension in the country does not cease. Mutual accusations are stated. The opposition accuses President Eduard Shevardnadze in fraud of results of the elections, demands either to approve its victory or resign. The President seems not to resign but stands ready to certain concessions. The unsatisfied opposition threatens Georgia with revolution. Aiming at organizing in the regions anti-government acts of protests on 7 November the leader of the “nationalists” Michael Saakashvili went to meet with the activists. On 8 November, he plans to conduct in the capital a multi-thousand anti-government action.
