OSCE BAKU OFFICE HOSTS ROUNDTABLE ON ELECTION ADMINISTRATION
Bakı, 18 may (AZERTAC). The OSCE Office in Baku has organized a roundtable meeting on election administration, bringing together representatives of 17 political parties and other related bodies.
The discussions focused on composition of election commissions, registration of candidates and more effective investigation of complaints.
Head of the OSCE Office in Baku Ali Bilge Cankorel said the organization supports steps underway in the country to improve the atmosphere related to the fall parliamentary elections.
He noted proper conduct of registration process would allow all political parties to participate in the elections.
Head of the OSCE/ODIHR Election Department, Nicolas Kaczorowski highlighted the organization`s relevant recommendations.
Secretary of the Azeri Central Election Commission Natig Mammadov briefed the participants on preparatory work for the forthcoming parliamentary election. He said international organizations praise the comission`s activity to improve electoral procedures.
