OSCE PA SUGGESTS CONDUCTING SEMINAR ON NAGORNO KARABAKH CONFLICT
Chairman of the economic policy standing committee, head of the delegation Sattar Safarov stated that Azerbaijan, as a result of realization of a number regional projects will become a strong state of the region, and updated on the problems, stressing that Armenia has occupied territories of Azerbaijan and over one million of Azerbaijanis became refugees and IDPs. Azerbaijan tries to solve the problem by peacefully and in the frame of international norms, while Armenia, backing by some states with “double standards” approach, do not refrain from its aggressive intends, he underlined. Instead, the OSCE Minsk Group has not imposed neither political, nor economic sanctions against Armenia.
Ambassador Goran Lenmarker said that the goal of the visit is to become familiar closely with the conflict, have idea on public opinion, also stressed that he saw the conditions of the refugees. At his words, it should be better to conduct a seminar with the participation of the conflict sides, and the disputable questions should be peacefully solved. The OSCE parliamentary Assembly prefers this way, he added.
