OSCE RECOMMENDS PARLIAMENT ELECTIONS IN GEORGIA IN APRIL-MAY 2004
President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization fro Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Bruce George stated in Tbilisi that OSCE “recommends to the leadership of Georgia to hold new elections to the Parliament in April-May 2004”.
Conducting within this time elections to Parliament will ”enable to better prepare”, Mr. Bruce George underlined.
It has to be reminded that Supreme Court of Georgia on 25 November 2003 annulled conclusions of the elections to parliament on proportional lists. In early December, the CEC appointed conducting new elections on 25 January current year, at the same time addressed the Acting President Nino Burjanadze with a request to hold the elections later for better preparation.
