OSCE REPRESENTATIVE ON FREEDOM OF THE MEDIA RESIGNS
OSCE representative on freedom of mass media Freimut Duve, who is going to resign in December 2003, will hold a news conference in Vienna on 11 December. Mr. Duve will focus on his 6-years activity and make a paper on situation in the field of freedom of speech in the 55 OSCE member states.
It should be reminded that Mr. Duve was appointed as the OSCE representative on freedom of media in December 1997, and took up the post on 1 January 1998, for a term of three years. Mr. Duve's mandate has recently been extended for a second term until 31 December 2003.
