OVER 2500 ATHLETES COMPETED IN OLYMPIC RACE DAY
The regular Olympic race day under the aegis of the International Olympic Committee was held in the National Park, June 27. The race was attended by over 2500 athletes of 60 teams of various organizations, universities, and sport federations. The number of women (400) increased in comparison with previous years. Coca-Cola has been sponsoring this sporting event for 5 years. McDonalds has recently joined sponsorship. Nariman Mammadov became winner in 10-km race, Fikret Gafarov won 4-km race while Vusal Azizov was the best in the 2-km race. In women’s section, Yuliya Bekova won 4-km race, Mahira Ismayilova - 2-km race. 75-year old Beyukaga Gasimov was the oldest runner while 6-year-old Burkhan Aliyev and Gulzada Shikhnaliyeva
