OVER 60 TONES OF DRUG PLANTS ANNIHILATED

Some 42,5 kilograms of drugs, including 3,8 kg of opium; 36,6 kg of marijuana; 0,8 kg of hashish; 1,3 kg of heroin have been withdrawn from illicit drug turnover in the first half of 2003, press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs informs. Because of the effective research and preventive measures, over 60 tones of drug plants have been annihilated. Some 293 persons have been instituted criminal proceedings for 347 cases related to drug sale.
