PACE JANUARY SESSION TO DISCUSS FULFILLMENT OF AZERBAIJAN’S OBLIGATIONS

At the January session of Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, discussed will be issues, connected with fulfillment of the obligations taken by Azerbaijan before admission to this Organization, including the persons, considered political prisoners in Azerbaijan.

As was informed by head of the delegation of Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Republic at PACE, chairman of the standing committee on international relations and inter-parliamentary ties Samad Seyidov, Azerbaijan fulfilled over 90 percent of the mentioned obligations. And the rest issues are being realized gradually, so that they need long time to be solved.

Until the January session of PACE, government of Azerbaijan will make a number of significant steps. The Parliament will also discuss Drafts of some laws.

“Government of Azerbaijan does its work not on insistence or demand of the Council of Europe, and this is a work we implement in the field of human rights”, he stressed.

As to the new Decree on pardoning, this is extremely within the President’s power. I hope, recently will be signed such a decree.
