PACE Monitoring Committee co-rapporteurs meet Azeri MPs
Baku, February 3 (AZERTAC). Visiting co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Monitoring Committee for Azerbaijan Josef Debono Grech of Malta and Pedro Agramunt of Spain met with representatives of political parties represented in the Milli Majlis.
MP, Deputy Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party Mubariz Gurbanly told of the Azerbaijan-Council of Europe ties. He noted this year marked the 10th anniversary of cooperation between Azerbaijan and CoE. To this end, the delegation of Azerbaijan to PACE took an active part in the celebrative events.
Gurbanly also briefed the co-rapporteurs on the new composition of the parliament. Some 10 parties are represented in the Milli Majlis. A group of independent parliamentarians also functions in the parliament. The full political spectrum is represented in the parliament.
Agramunt noted the aim of the visit is to learn more about political, economic, social situation.
Co-rapporteurs inquired about Azerbaijan`s honoring Council of Europe commitments.
