Pakistan`s States Times newspaper published interview with Azerbaijan diplomat
Baku, April 30 (AZERTAC). The interview with an Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Pakistan, Dashgin Shikarov was published in Pakistan`s English-language newspaper “States Times” on April 28.
In the interview the Azerbaijan Ambassador dwelled on Azerbaijan-Pakistani relations, economic and trade ties between two countries, Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh and a wide range of other issues.
The diplomat emphasized that Azerbaijan and Pakistan are friendly countries. “Pakistan was the second country after Turkey to recognize a state independence of Azerbaijan”, the Ambassador said. Mr. Shikarov also emphasized that Pakistan also condemned the Armenia`s military aggression against Azerbaijan. In turn, Azerbaijan also supports UN resolutions concerning a territorial dispute over the Kashmir region.
In the interview, the Azerbaijan Ambassador also said that 20% of Azerbaijani territories still remain under the occupation of armed forces of the Republic of Armenia. The occupation has made more than one million Azerbaijani people refugees and internally displaced persons. Armenia also destroyed historical, cultural and architectural monuments and tourist centres of Azerbaijan on the occupied territories.
