POLISH AMBASSADOR ON PERSPECTIVES OF BILATERAL CO-OP WITH AZERBAIJAN
The Ambassador noted that preparation of the project has been drafted on co-op between the defense ministries of Azerbaijan and Poland, and its signing is due in 2004. The said document envisages exchange of experience, training of the Azerbaijani militaries at the academy of Poland and others.
According to the Ambassador, his country as earlier is keen in development of co-op in the non-oil sector. Mr. Navrot pointed at the fact that annual goods turnover between the two countries amounts over 30 million USD, 29 million of which falls to the goods and services imported from Poland. Evaluating the level of economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Poland as unsatisfactory, the Polish diplomat underlined that increase of goods turnover would be promoted by expansion of relations in the sphere of small and medium business.
Poland can render assistance in admission of Azerbaijan to NATO, “if the country’s leadership will state such an intention”, the Ambassador concluded.
