PRESIDENT OF AZERBAIJAN ILHAM ALIYEV HOLDS OPERATIONAL MEETING

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev held an operational meeting at the office of the Executive Body of Lankaran on January 30. He expressed his sorrow about the yesterday’s occurrence and said the State Commission formed on this occasion would investigate the causes of the accident and present final report. The Head of State noted the probability of such accidents in other regions, as the “buildings erected in 1960-70s have become out of date.” The President pointed out that the Cabinet of Ministers must take urgent actions aimed at inventory of such buildings, their repairs and reconstruction.

After the meeting, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met in front of the building of the Executive Body with representatives of the public and families of the accident’s victims. The Head of the Republic stressed that all needs of those suffered from the accident would be satisfied, and that members of the State Commission and relevant local authorities would stay in Lankaran until the problems of each family are solved. All the families will be provided with apartments, compensations and other kind of aid.

Members of the families suffered from the accident expressed to President Ilham Aliyev their deep gratitude for the care and attention.
