PRESIDENT OF AZERBAIJAN ILHAM ALIYEV RECEIVES REPRESENTATIVES OF RUSSIAN COMPANIES
Having thanked the Head of State for the sincere welcome, the guests congratulated him on the brilliant victory in the Presidential election. They also expressed deep condolences on the occasion of the demise of the nationwide leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, and pointed out the special contribution by presidents Heydar Aliyev and Vladimir Putin to creating the solid foundation for establishment of cooperation between our states.
Expressing their satisfaction with the today’s level of Azerbaijan-Russia economic relations, the guests pointed out good opportunities for expanding cooperation in fuel-energy sphere, which the structures they represent show great interest in.
Having thanked the guests for the sincere words, President Ilham Aliyev stressed the particular significance Azerbaijan attaches to relations with Russia saying “we will do our best to further develop this relationship turned thanks to the efforts by presidents Mr. Heydar Aliyev and Mr. Vladimir Putin into the strategic partnership.
Pointing out the special attention paid in the country to solving social problems, including measures for supplying the population with gas, President Ilham Aliyev said that now Azerbaijan receives natural gas from neighboring Russia, and that “we want to increase the import of the blue fuel to provide all the regions of Azerbaijan with it in full measure.” “We consider it very important to widen and strengthen this mutually beneficial cooperation,” the President added.
Noting that Russia takes keen interest in the upcoming visit by the President of Azerbaijan to Moscow, the guest described the event as a new stage in the development of the relationship between the two countries.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said he attaches great significance to this visit, and expressed confidence that the expected meetings and negotiations would open new opportunities for development of interstate relations.
