PRESIDENT OF AZERBAIJAN REPUBLIC RECEIVED AMBASSADOR OF IRAN TO AZERBAIJAN
Ambassador Gazai handed over the congratulation message of the president of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyyed Mohammad Khatemi to Mr. Ilham Aliyev on his election as President and in his person congratulated the people of Azerbaijan on the holy Ramadan.
Ambassador Gazai expressed his gratitude to the President of Azerbaijan Republic for receiving at the President Palace the ambassadors of the Islamic countries accredited in Baku on the holiday of Ramadan on 25 November. The Ambassador expressed a hope that this tradition initiated by President Heydar Aliyev would be continued in the years ahead.
Ambassador of Iran interested in health of the nationwide leader of Azerbaijani people and wished his quick recovery and return home. Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran gave a high assessment to the role of Heydar Aliyev in establishment of the Azerbaijani-Iranian relations on a firm ground.
Expressing his satisfaction with the level of good, neighboring and mutually beneficial cooperation relations established between Azerbaijan Republic and the Republic of Islamic Republic of Iran, President Ilham Aliyev stated that he adheres further successful development of these relations on the ground of mutual understanding.
Expressing his gratitude to the Ambassador, the head of the Azerbaijani state informed that health of Mr. Heydar Aliyev is good and he keeps regular phone contact with him, saying that Mr. Heydar Aliyev watches the happenings in Azerbaijan and in the world on television. The head of state said that the firm relations established with Iran would be continued in the future.
In the course of meeting, a number of other issues of mutual interest were focused.
Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ahad Gazai expressed his deep gratitude to President of Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev for cordial reception.
