President of Czech Republic to be secured against national impeachment opportunities
Prague, February, 18 (AZERTAC). According to the press service of the Justice Ministry of Czech Republic, the governmental coalition concurred with opposition regarding the issue that after introduction of direct presidential election, the law should not allow an apportunity to declare the impeachment by means of a referendum, plebiscite or other form of mass voting.
On the contrary, the Head of the state should be responsible for infringement of the constitution or for any other offense, according to Czech minister of Justice Yirzhi Pospishil. He has also said the powers of the President can change - it will mainly concern the election of the National Bank board members, appointment of the Supreme and High administrative courts` staff and also the amnesty granting. The second round of negotiations on direct election is scheduled for March 2.
