After presentation of members of delegation, Mr. Mr. Christian Poncelet, taking the floor, greeted President of Azerbaijan. “We are very proud to welcome the newly elected President of Azerbaijan. It is very pleased that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has made his first visit to France. Senate of France appreciates it. Official France and the French Senate highly assess it. This shows Azerbaijan’s attention and evidences how President of Azerbaijan attaches importance to strengthening of the existent relations between the two countries. At the same time, increases responsibility of the French side. Personality of president Ilham Aliyev is honored and respected in France. This visit will have an exceptional role to reach a new level of the French-Azerbaijani cooperation”, he stressed.
President of Azerbaijan made a speech at the official dinner.
In particular, the Head of our state said: Azerbaijan-France relations whose foundation was laid by our nation-wide leader Heydar Aliyev is today also rapidly developing, and the leadership of Azerbaijan will take every effort for further expanding our links. These links meet interests of both countries. I believe that Azerbaijani-French cooperation has very good prospects in both political and economic sphere.
After the official dinner, President Ilham Aliyev signed the Senate Memory Book. On behalf of the French Senate, the President of Azerbaijan has been presented with a memorable gift.
