I am writing to express my deepest sympathy, both personally and on behalf of the entire Customs community on the sad occasion of the death of President Heydar Aliyev.
His passing will be greatly mourned by the Azeri people, for whom this is a truly tragic and distressing time. He will nevertheless live on in the collective memory and his contribution to your country will never be forgotten.
I realize that this must be a very painful time for you with loss of your father, who was also a role model for your entire family.
I shall never forget my good fortune at meeting President Heydar Aliyev and discussing topics that were extremely close to his heart.
I avail myself of this opportunity to express to your Excellency the assurance of my highest consideration.
