With all my heart, full of sadness, I express to You, and all people of Azerbaijan, deepest condolences on the occasion of passing of the great son of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyevich Aliyev.
During our joint work, the Council of Ministers of the Soviet Union, Supreme Council of USSR, Ministry of Communication Ways, as well as our joint trips, as members of Party and governmental delegations to many countries, and especially to various regions of the country, I had always delighted with his business-like character, competence, patriotism, kindness and love towards people of any nationality and office. I fully agree the opinion of majority of Azerbaijanis that Heydar Aliyevich is father of Azerbaijani people.
I am proud that Heydar Aliyevich is originated from railway workers family. Expressing my grieve once again, I express to You my sympathy, and assure You that thankful memory of Heydar Aliyevich will be kept in my memory till the end of my days.
