This is to express my deep shock and anguish over the sad demise of your illustrious father H.E. Mr. Heydar Aliyev, the founder of the Republic of Azerbaijan. I fully share your sorrows and grief over this irreparable loss and pray to Almighty Allah that He may grant patience to you and other members of the bereaved family to bear this loss with perseverance. The services rendered by your father during his ten-year rule for his people and the Republic shall always be remembered both inside and outside the Republic. The late President served Azerbaijan with devotion and commitment. As I know, the Republic of Azerbaijan made tremendous progress in socio-economic fields under his benign leadership. He shall always be remembered in Pakistan for forging deep and fraternal ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan I am confident that Your Excellency would follow the footsteps of your late father.
The people of Pakistan and Azerbaijan share common culture and common faith. I hope under your leadership the relations between the people of Azerbaijan and Pakistan shall be further continued to our mutual benefit.
