The OSCE office in Azerbaijan expresses it sincerest condolences to the family of former President of the Azerbaijan Republic, Heydar Aliyev, and to the people of the country at their loss.
The passing of the ex-president marks the end of a pivotal era in the history of Azerbaijan as an independent state, of which he was a founding father. He will be remembered as the leader who gave his energies to the goal of bringing peace, prosperity and stability to his nation. His untiring efforts have laid the path for future leaders of Azerbaijan to realize that goal and see the country emerge as a prosperous, stable and peaceful haven of democracy in the region.
