The outstanding state and political figure who had done much for Azerbaijani and other peoples of the Soviet Union passed away.
Heydar Aliyev will remain in the history as a talented and courageous leader, defender of strengthening of friendship of the Caucasian peoples with Russia.
Being in the office of President of Azerbaijan Republic, he tried to settle the Trans-Caucasian conflicts through negotiations and compromises.
It is my conviction that under your guidance people of Azerbaijan will henceforth follow the way set by Heydar Aliyev.
With all my heart, I wish you to withstand with fortitude the sorrow - loss of your native father.
