I am deeply distressed to learn the passing away of the former President of Azerbaijan, H.E. Mr. Heydar Aliyev.

I strongly believe that his distinctive qualities of statesmanship and his vast experience in international relations provided stability and development in Azerbaijan as well as in the region.

On this sad occasion, I would like, on behalf of my Ministry and my own, to convey Your Excellency and to friendly Azerbaijan people my heartfelt condolences and my deepest sympathy.
