President of UN Environment Assembly’s 7th session visits Azerbaijani Embassy in Kenya

On December 4, Abdullah Bin Ali Al-Amri, President of the 7th session of the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA7), Chairman of the Environment Authority of Oman, visited the Azerbaijani Embassy in Kenya.
Abdullah Bin Ali Al-Amri, familiarized himself with the memorial room and corner dedicated to Azerbaijan’s National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the Embassy. Sultan Hajiyev, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kenya, briefed the UNEA-7 President on the history of the Azerbaijani statehood, the political activity of Heydar Aliyev, as well as the achievements gained under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the ongoing large-scale reconstruction and humanitarian demining efforts in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories, as well as advancements in the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace agenda.
Abdullah Bin Ali Al-Amri hailed the successful collaboration between Azerbaijan - Chair of the Permanent Representatives Committee of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) - and Oman’s UNEA7 in the preparations for the 7th session of the UNEA scheduled to take place next week.
Ambassador Sultan Hajiyev highlighted Azerbaijan’s successful cooperation with UNEP and UNEA during the COP29 in November of 2024.
Hajiyev also informed the Omani official about the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) to be hosted by Azerbaijan on May 17-22, 2026.
