President of World Wrestling Union visits Olympic Wrestling Center in Baku

The President of the United World Wrestling (UWW) Nenad Lalovic has paid a visit to the training camp of Azerbaijan’s national wrestling team at the country’s Olympic Wrestling Center.
First vice-president of Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation Firdovsi Umudov informed the UWW president of conditions created for the athletes in the Center.
Umudov said that the Olympic Wrestling Center is an integral part of the sports policy pursued by President of the National Olympic Committee, President Ilham Aliyev. He noted that the Olympic Wrestling Center, where three wrestling teams can train at the same time, features the necessary infrastructure and training facilities.
Nenad Lalovic praised Azerbaijan`s sporting achievements on the international arena, linking it to the high level conditions created for their training. He said that the Azerbaijani wrestlers are lucky in this regard.
“As the United World Wrestling we are pleased to see such a training base of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation. Azerbaijan is a country with deep-rooted wrestling traditions. There is a great interest in sports, particularly in wrestling in the country. We highly appreciate the position of the Azerbaijani Wrestling Federation in the UWW. The fact that Azerbaijani wrestlers always win high awards in the international tournaments is due to the conditions created by the leadership of the country and the Federation," Lalovic added.
