PRESS CONFERENCE OF CHAIRMAN OF CLERICAL OFFICE OF CAUCASIAN MUSLIMS
Mr. Pashazadeh congratulated the audience on the Feast of Ramadan and wished them god’s blessing.
Sheikh ul-Islam updated the journalists on the results of the meeting. He said that it is the first meeting at this level after thousandth anniversary of Russia’s christening. In the course of the meeting, the sides discussed the situation in Caucasian region and, in particular, in Georgia. The discussions resulted in signing of the document that address the worshippers not to allow terrorists, extremists to use the ethnic and religious differences for their purposes, while politicians were urged to maintain the firm peace in the Caucasus.
In his address, A. Pashazadeh said: “If Armenians are concerned with their future, if they want to accustom themselves to progress, development, reach welfare, thus, they should gain the trust of their neighbors rather than their lands. Otherwise Armenia will face upheavals and destitution”
A. Pashazadeh also met with Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Aleksiy II and the sides decided the ways of settling the conflicts in the region and results of meeting between Sheikh and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
In the course of the visit, Pashzadeh also met with other religious leaders of Russia and representatives of Azerbaijani Diaspora in Moscow.
As was noted, the Inter-religious peacemaking forum of CIS countries, which governing body Religious Council that will affiliate CIS religious leaders. The forum is initiated by Aleksiy II ad Allahshukur Pashazadeh.
