PRESS SERVICE OF PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF AZERBAIJAN REPORTS
During the reception, Ambassador Chantal Poiret announced that staying in France early this month she had had meetings with the government officials, and had been instructed by President Jacques Chirac to extend once again his congratulations to President Ilham Aliyev on the victory in the elections.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his satisfaction with the level of friendly relations and close cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and France stressing the necessity for their further expanding and strengthening. He asked Ambassador Chantal Poiret to convey his gratefulness to President of France for his congratulations.
During the meeting, the parties as well exchanged views on the presidential elections in Azerbaijan, their results, post-election situation in the country, and other issues of mutual interest.
In conclusion, Ambassador of France to Azerbaijan Mrs. Chantal Poiret expressed to President Ilham Aliyev her gratitude for the sincere reception.
