PRESS SERVICE OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF AZERBAIJAN
In the course of phone conversation, Leonid Kuchma and Ilham Aliyev discussed current state of the bilateral friendly and cooperation relations between the two countries. The Presidents gave a high assessment to the constantly developing relations and exchange views on prospects of these relations.
Both Presidents stressed invaluable contributions of the nationwide leader of Azerbaijani people President Heydar Aliyev in development of these historically friendly relations and transforming to strategic partnership. At the same time, the heads of state confidently underlined the further strengthening of these relations in the political, economic, cultural and other fields.
During the phone talk, Leonid Kuchma invited Ilham Aliyev to pay an official visit to Ukraine. The invitation was accepted.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude to the President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma for call and wished tranquility and prosperity to the people of Ukraine.
