Qatar’s national holiday marked in Baku

The Embassy of Qatar hosted an official reception on the occasion of its country's national holiday.
Abdulaziz Abdulrahman Al-Shahab, Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of Qatar, highlighted the country’s development over the past years. He hailed Qatar’s experience of significant changes in political, economic and cultural spheres.
The Ambassador praised the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Qatar. Providing an insight into the friendly relations of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Qatari Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, he said that these relations contribute to further development of friendship between the two countries. The diplomat expressed confidence that relationship in economic, cultural, educational and other fields will develop further.
Minister of Communications and High Technologies Ali Abbasov congratulated the Qatari people on behalf of President Ilham Aliyev and conveyed President’s wishes.
The Minister said that President Ilham Aliyev’s visits to Qatar and Qatari Emir Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani’s visits to Azerbaijan has led to the rapid development of friendly relations between the two countries which was laid by Azerbaijan’s national leader Heydar Aliyev.
The Minister expressed confidence that the friendly relations between the two countries will strengthen and deepen.
The reception brought together public and government officials, parliamentarians, ambassadors, journalists and public figures.
