RESOLUTION12TH CONGRESS OF TEACHERS OF AZERBAIJAN
1. To consider the Congress to be an important event in public, political and cultural life of the country and achieve step by step fulfillment of its resolutions by educational establishments of the republic in the forthcoming years as a program of actions.
2. To approve and take into consideration the report submitted to the Congress on reforms, fulfilled in the field of education for recent 5 years and on perspective activity.
3. To recommend the related structures to speed up the activities directed to strategic aims, envisaged for upcoming years by the “Program of reforms in education of the Republic of Azerbaijan”.
4. Taking into account the reforms carried out in the field of education for recent years. Realities, integration of Azerbaijan to world educational system, documents of international organizations related to modern education, such as UNESCO, to recommend the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan to take into account a necessity of passing a new law on education.
5. The Congress points out the importance of active position of all teachers for strengthening of statehood of Azerbaijan and permanent preservation of stability in the society. The Congress condemns the attempts to violate public and political stability in the country and warns destructive forces, which violate international image of Azerbaijan, that they are carrying historical responsibility for their illegal actions in front of Azerbaijani people, and pedagogical public among them.
6. The Congress states, that teachers of Azerbaijan, one of the main force, representing people, in fact, will show political activity at the upcoming Presidential elections of October 15, 2003 and will become the guarantee of free, democratic and transparent elections in Azerbaijan.
