Rifca Stanescu became youngest grandmother in world at 23
Baku, March 11 (AZERTAC). Rifca Stanescu, from the village of Investi, Romania, has become the world`s youngest grandmother - aged just 23. Rifca eloped with her husband, Ionel, when she was just 11 years old, having her first child, Maria, when she was 12.
Despite her mother`s wishes to stay in school, Maria gave birth to son Ion at the age of 11, making Rifca the world`s youngest grandmother, The Sun reported.
Rifca`s mother, who is also called Maria, became a great-grandmother at just 40 years old. Rifca, now 25, told the Sun: `I am happy to be a grandmother but I wished something else for Maria - and something else for me.
