Romania’s crude oil imports from Azerbaijan increase 18.8 percent

Romania's crude oil imports from Azerbaijan increased sharply in the first 8 months of this year, according to the profit.ro portal.
Romania imported 924,913 tons of crude oil from Azerbaijan in January–August 2026, marking an 18.8 percent increase compared with the same period last year.
The value of the Azerbaijani crude oil shipments to Romania also increased by 35.5 percent year-on-year, reaching USD 581.7 million.
According to the portal, Romania accounted for 6.3 percent of Azerbaijan's total crude oil exports, becoming the third-largest buyer of Azerbaijani oil after Italy and Czechia.
