RUSSIAN-AZERBAIJANI RELATIONS SHOULD BE TREATED WITH GREAT RESPONSE
Certain coolness in the Russian-Azerbaijani relations, occurred after collapse of the USSR with the occupation by Armenia-aggressor of the Azerbaijani lands, took place because of the assistance rendered to Armenia-aggressor by certain circles at first in the USSR, then in Russia, colonel-general Safar Abiyev underlined.
Secretary of the RF Security Council Vladimir Rushaylo noted that his country stands ready to discuss perspectives of military and military-technical cooperation between the two states and it would correspond strategic interests of the sides.
Then, the parties had large exchange of views on the Azerbaijani-Russian military cooperation.
Delivery of weapons and ammunition, military techniques, withdrawn from the military bases in Georgia to Armenia, and then, from there to Nagorno Karabakh and their location at the occupied Azerbaijani lands, annual conduction of the Russian-Armenian joint exercises worry us, colonel-general Safar Abiyev said. Azerbaijan is ready for every kind of cooperation with Russia, for its national interests. Russia, as an OSCE Minsk Group co-chair, should try for quick resolution of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict on the base of norms on international law.
Then, colonel-general Safar Abiyev responded to the questions of the guests.
Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Azerbaijan Nikolay Ryabov attended the meeting.
