Baku, March 3 (AZERTAC). American scientists have discovered that sleep during the day has cardiovascular benefits, lowering blood pressure and decreasing mental stress.
Specialists from Allegheny College in Pennsylvania have shown that sleep only 45 minutes a day has an effect, Emax Health reports. In the study, 85 people were divided into two groups, one being left to sleep 60 minutes a day, the other is not allowed to do so.
Subjects also underwent tests to measure their mental stress, their response to monitorizandu them and cardiovascular (blood pressure and heart rate) from time to time. It was noted that although both groups had increases in tension and a rapid heart rate in response to mental stress, changes in those who had been unable to sleep during the day were less pronounced. Moreover, previous research has shown that insomnia and poor sleep quality are associated with physical and emotional problems, and loss of productivity, it also mentions a report in the International Journal of Behavioral Medicine. The ideal time for recovery sleep during the day is 45 to 60 minutes, researchers have found.
