SOCAR CHIEF MEETS GDF SUEZ PRESIDENT
Baku, June 30 (AZERTAC). President of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev has met Vice-Chairman and President of GDF SUEZ, President of EUROGAS Jean-Francois Cirelli.
The two discussed energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and French companies. Abdullayev praised “effective” cooperation between SOCAR and French Total on exploration of Absheron field.
Cirelli said not only his company, but also all other French energy firms were interested in energy projects being implemented in Azerbaijan.
They also exchanged views on current state and prospects of gas business in Europe. SOCAR president reiterated Azerbaijan`s position on South Corridor project which will transport Caspian natural gas to Europe, saying his country supported the project.
GDF SUEZ is one of the largest gas suppliers in France. The company deploys its exploration and production activities in the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, Norway, Algeria, Egypt, and, in a more limited way, in Mauritania, the Ivory Coast, the USA, Indonesia, Denmark and France.
