SOCAR, China’s CNOOC sign Memorandum of Understanding

On September 1, SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf met with a delegation led by Zhang Chuanjiang, Chairman of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC).
During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for cooperation in offshore oil and gas exploration, development, and production; investment opportunities in oil refining and petrochemicals; cooperation in international trade; the application of new technologies; and enhancing operational efficiency.
As part of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between SOCAR and CNOOC.
The document envisages the implementation of joint upstream projects in Azerbaijan and other countries, as well as the expansion of cooperation in the oil and gas sector in the areas of technical services, equipment and technology supplies, engineering, operations, and technical support.
