SOCAR PRESIDENT MEETS SYRIAN MINISTER OF PETROLEUM AND MINERAL RESOURCES
Baku, June 29 (AZERTAC). President of Azerbaijan State Oil Company (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev has today met Syrian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Sufian Allaw, who is in Baku to attend the first meeting of Syria-Azerbaijan intergovernmental commission.
Abdullayev praised the current level of the political ties between Azerbaijan and Syria.
The Syrian minister said his country attaches “great” importance to cooperation with Azerbaijan. He expressed assurance the Baku meeting of intergovernmental commission would contribute to further developing the cooperation between the two nations.
Allaw said SOCAR and Syrian Petroleum Company have broad opportunities to enjoy cooperation. The minister said his country was much more interested in signing an agreement on export of Azeri gas Syria.
