SOCAR PRESIDENT MEETS US SENATOR

President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev met Tuesday with visiting U.S. delegation headed by Senator Bob Corker.

Mr. Abdullayev briefed the Senator on his country`s accomplishments achieved in oil and gas industry. He stressed the United States` support for implementation of regional energy projects.

SOCAR President also spoke about Azerbaijan`s role in ensuring European energy security.

Bob Corker, in turn, praised the progress in Azerbaijan`s oil and gas industry.

He underlined the U.S attaches significant importance to bilateral cooperation with Azerbaijan.

The Senator also highlighted Azerbaijan`s role in delivering Caspian energy resources to world markets.

U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Anne Derse was also present at the event
