Soyuz TMA-20 prepares for liftoff

Baku, December 15 (AZERTAC). A fresh crew is preparing to travel to the International Space Station, ISS, onboard the Russian spacecraft from a launch site in Kazakhstan.

The Soyuz FG rocket with Soyuz TMA-20 spacecraft is scheduled to lift off from Baikonur Cosmodrome`s Site 1 on Wednesday, at 22:09:25 Moscow Time (19:09 GMT).

Onboard will be three members of the 26th and 27th long-duration station crew: Russian cosmonaut Dmitry Kondratyev, NASA astronaut Catherine Coleman and Italian astronaut representing European Space Agency, Paolo Nespoli.

The rocket with the spacecraft was rolled out to the launch pad Monday.

Following the launch and a two-day chase of the station in orbit, Soyuz TMA-20 is scheduled to dock to the outpost on Dec. 17, 2010, at 23:12 Moscow Time (20:12 GMT).
