Special plane evacuates 103 Azerbaijanis from Cairo
Baku, January 31 (AZERTAC). An aircraft carrying Azerbaijanis who live on a permanent and temporary basis in Egypt landed January 31, at 4:00 at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport. The plane was sent in accordance with President Ilham Aliyev`s instructions over recent unrest in Egypt.
The plane evacuated 103 Azerbaijanis including 23 children, 80 old people. Two Russia nationals of Azerbaijani decent are among the evacuated.
They said developments in Egypt pose threat to their security as the country is plagued by loots, food and bread shortage.
The plane also delivered a dead body of the Nijat Gojayev, employee of the Azerbaijani embassy shot dead in Cairo.
