Summer session of NATO International School of Azerbaijan starts in Baku
Baku, July 4 (AZERTAC). A summer session of NATO International School of Azerbaijan (NISA) has today kicked off in Azerbaijan`s capital.
The opening ceremony of the event has brought together 50 representatives from 22 NATO member and partner countries.
The first day meeting of the session saw discussions around “The Middle East Puzzle: Security and Democracy” topic.
NISA Sessions held regularly since 2003 on various security related topics, such as energy and border security, critical energy infrastructure protection, crisis management, peace support operations, maritime security, cyber defence, global financial crisis and NATO`s new Strategic Concept.
The upcoming NISA Summer Session aims at providing an opportunity for participants to discuss recent developments in the Middle East. Understanding the Middle East unrest, its roots and causes, role of information technologies, social networking and mass media, international response, human rights and democracy vis-à-vis rule of law and security, implications and perspectives will be the key topics to be addressed in the Session.
