Switzerland responds to Azerbaijan`s note of protest over exhibition incident
Baku, May 7 (AZERTAC). The Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs has responded to Azerbaijan`s protest note over a material about Karabakh displayed on the Armenian stand at the Geneva book fair.
The Azerbaijani embassy to Switzerland has sent a note of protest to the country`s Federal Department of Foreign Affairs after the International Book and Press Exhibition featured the material distorting Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity.
In its response, the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs expressed regret over the incident.
The Federal Department said that only the exhibitor bore responsibility for material at the exhibition, adding legal proceedings would be possible only if Swiss law had been violated.
The Department said the Swiss government considered the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh region and adjacent regions Azerbaijan`s territory.
