TRACECA SUPPORTS AZERBAIJAN MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT
In the course of the visit, requirements specification of two projects “Support for Ministry of Transport” included into action program for 2002/2003 and 2004/2005 were discussed, EU Coordinating Bureau for technical assistance to Azerbaijan reports.
A. Boitsios met with national coordinator of EU technical assistance program to Azerbaijan, Minister for Economic Development Farhad Aliyev, Coordinating Bureau executive director Asgar Alakbarov, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic.
Issues related to support projects of the Ministry of Transport, and EU new transport strategy for the CIS countries, envisaging revision of main aims of TRACECA program, as well as priorities and aims of all transport sector were discussed.
According to the coordinating bureau (CB) representatives, €1 mln 200 thousand is planned to allocate for TRACECA project works, main goal of which is to render consultative services for the Ministry of Transport.
