TURKEY ENERGY CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS AZERBAIJAN` ROLE IN EUROPEAN ENERGY SECURITY
Ankara, June 24 (AZERTAC). Political scientists and energy experts have highlighted the role of Azerbaijan in Europe`s energy security at an international conference organized in Ankara by the Turkish International Strategic Research Organization (USAK), Kondrad Adenauer Foundation and sponsored by BP.
Speaking to the conference, energy expert Otto Hauser lingered around Azerbaijan-Germany-Turkey strategic energy cooperation. According to him, Nagorno-Karabakh problem represents a threat to the energy security and pipelines. He urged European countries to intensify their efforts to solve the problem on the basis of international law.
Speakers at the conference including USAK coordinator Sedat Laciner, Konrad Adenauer Foundation`s Turkish representative Jan Senkir, Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Yusuf Yazar underlined the exceptional role of Azerbaijan in Nabucco, Turkey-Greece-Italy pipeline projects.
Representative of the European Commission Eva Tvarozkova stressed transportation of natural gas from Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan makes contribution to solving energy problems in Europe in the short run.
