Turkish Minister to Attend Railway Project Meeting in Georgia
Baku, January 26 (AZERTAC). As is reported by the Turkish internet sites, the Turkish transportation minister Binali Yildirim has today arrived in Tbilisi, Georgia.
The Turkish minister is to attend a meeting on Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project which connects Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia.
He will also meet with Georgian Prime Minister Nikoloz Gilauri, and then attend the ministerial meeting to discuss the project. Transportation ministers of Azerbaijan and Georgia will also participate in the meeting.
They will discuss the construction of the project as well as additional financing issues.
The Turkish minister is later expected to depart from Georgia.
Azerbaijan, which provided 200 million USD loan, repayable in 25 years, for the construction of Georgian part of the project, has said that it was ready to reserve 50 million USD more loan additionally. The foundation of the project was laid in 2007.
