Ukrainian portal publishes article of AzerTAc reporter in Kiev
Baku, April 13 (AZERTAC). The Ukrainian portal of "Hvylya" ("Wave", http://hvylya.org).) of teh Center of the political analysis "Strategy" has published the article of the correspondent of AZERTAC in Ukraine under heading "Azerbaijan. XX century. Gnocide".
In the article, it is underlined that many long years many facts from history of Azerbaijan have been hidden from the public and due to political conjuncture were treated differently. Now, after gaining the state independence, it became possible to analyse objectively the certain periods of history as many facts coded earlier became accessible. Many of them show that the Azerbaijani people repeatedly were exposed to genocide.
The author of article has made digression to history, telling about how the known contracts signed in 1813 and 1828, have tragically affected destiny of the Azerbaijani people, not only having divided the nation and its historical lands, but also having begun systematic occupation of the Azerbaijani lands as a result of mass resettlement of Armenians.
With increase in number of the Armenians who have moved to Azerbaijan, as the author states, there apperad claims of new sttleres for the lands as on their property, and the local population began to be forced out in every possible way. It has generated acute contradictions in region. As a result of the similar policy of Russian tsarism these contradictions repeatedly led to the armed conflicts provoked by Armenians. In 1905-1907 Armenians have carried out against Azerbaijanis large-scale bloody actions which have begun in Baku and have captured all Azerbaijan, including the Azerbaijani villages in territory of present Armenia. Hundreds villages have been destroyed, thousand Azerbaijanis were brutally killed. Thus, organizers of these events in every possible way interfered with disclosing of the said crimes, created negative image of Azerbaijanis.
The First World War, February and October Revolutions in Russia and accompanying chaos have been used by Armenians for realization of their insidious plan. In March 1918, having assumed the power in Baku under Stepan Shaumyan, the dashnaks have carried out genocide of the Azerbaijani people. As a result of the committed crime in March-April in Baku, Shamakhy and other regions of Azerbaijan were killed hundreds of civilians
Facts of massacre, repressions and deportation of Azerbaijanis from their native lands can be considered as one of the tragic pages of world history of ХХ century. In these bloody stages of history of the Azerbaijani people there is the trace of the Armenian chauvinism with mythical idea of the “Great Armenia - from the sea to the sea”.
For the first time the political-legal assessment has been given to the tragic events of those years in the Decree signed by the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev in 1998 according to which March 31 is marked as the Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis.
